Prof. Dr. Eyüp Salahattin Karakaş

Prof. Dr. Eyüp Selahattin Karakaş completed his education at Hacettepe University Medical Faculty in 1971 and began his specialization training in the Orthopedics and Traumatology department at the same Medical Faculty. In 1976, he became a specialist in Orthopedics and Traumatology and was appointed as a faculty member at Erciyes University. Due to his contributions to the university, he became an associate professor in 1982 and a full professor in 1988.

Until 2001, Prof. Dr. Eyup S. Karakaş served as a faculty member at Erciyes University. During this period, he took on administrative roles such as Head of the Department of Orthopedics and Traumatology, chief physician, deputy dean, dean, and vice-rector.

In 2001, after retiring from his faculty position, he moved to Istanbul, where he served as the chief physician at Taksim First Aid Training and Research Hospital and Baltalimanı Bone Diseases Training and Research Hospital until 2011. Throughout his academic and clinical career, he has contributed to the training of many specialists in Orthopedics and Traumatology.

Prof. Dr. Eyup S. Karakaş has published 12 books, either as an editor or an author. He has a total of 108 articles published in both international and national journals. Additionally, he has presented 72 papers in both domestic and international conferences and meetings.

After completing his official duties in 2011, he continued to serve the public in various private hospitals in the field of orthopedics and traumatology. Currently, he continues to offer his services at MacHealers - Central Hospital in İstanbul.

Prof. Dr. Eyup S. Karakaş is a member of the Turkish Orthopedics and Traumatology Association, AAOS (American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons), EFFORT (European Federation of Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology), and KECD (Bone Joint Surgery Association).
